Brave As Can Be is a beautifully written and illustrated book that shows children the different ways that they can be brave and courageous. The book promotes inclusivity and diversity. It explores what happens inside of us to push through our fear, self-doubt, and anxiety to do the things that feel hard or frightening.

Kylie offers author visits to primary schools, kindergartens and childcare centres. These sessions are interactive, linked to the Victorian Curriculum and have follow up activities that can be used after her visit.

During the presentation, Kylie can read the story, discuss the concept and writing process, the timeline from idea to publishing, the meaning behind the book and some of the pages, make curriculum links to wellbeing and answer questions. The format of the presentation actively involves the children, through questioning and facilitating opportunities for them to think about and share times when they have been brave and courageous.
